Competition Information
Covid - 19 update- Due to Covid the Miss America Organization, has postponed the 2020 competition season. Titleholders awarded in 2020 will also hold the title for 2021. Updates to come as they are announced.
Eligibility information is as follows:
Eligibility - Outstanding Teen Competition
Must be between the ages of 12 and 17 years of age prior to the Miss South Texas' Outstanding Teen Competition
Must be at least 13 years of age by the Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen Competition in June 2020
Must not turn 18 years of age on or before July 31, 2020
Must be a full-time resident or full-time student in the state of Texas for at least six months prior to our local pageant.

Outstanding Teen - Areas of Competition
There are four areas of competition in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization. The same panel of judges will score each area of competition. Each candidate is scored individually, not comparatively. Scores are 1-10, whole numbers only. The high and low scores are dropped in each area of competition. The areas of competition are as follows:
Private Interview: (25%) Candidates will meet with the judges for a 6 minute private interview.
Talent: (35%) Candidates must present a 90 second talent presentation of their choosing.
Evening Gown/Onstage Question: (25%) Candidates may wear an evening gown of their choice. Evening gowns should be age-appropriate. Candidates will be asked one question about their Social Impact initiative.
Physical Fitness: (15%) Candidates will model fitness wear and perform a short fitness routine for this portion of the competition.
Eligibility - Miss Competition
Must be between the ages of 17 and 25 years
High School students must be Seniors; Graduating Seniors that do not turn 18 prior to July 31, 2020 would be eligible to compete as an Outstanding Teen
Must be no older than twenty-five (25) years of age on December 31, 2020
Must be a full-time resident or full-time student in the state of Texas for at least six months prior to our local pageant.

Miss Candidate - Areas of Competition
There are five areas of competition in the Miss America Competition. The same panel of judges will score each area of competition.

Talent: (40%) Candidates must present a 90 second talent presentation of their choosing.
Evening Wear & Social Impact Statement: (20%) Candidates may wear evening attire of their choice. They will have 10 seconds to deliver a statement regarding their chosen Social Impact initiative.
Onstage Question: (15%) Candidates will be asked one question that was discussed in their private interview with the judges.
